Creating a Custom Market

The Custom Market homepage offers quick access to the market search, saved markets, or Saved Mill Groups.

To define a custom market, set the filter values for the market. You can use any combination of the 12 filter categories to build your market. To define the region or grade/product, click the Plus icon in the appropriate box:

  • The Region and Grade/Product will always be displayed, but you are only required to define a value for Grade/Product.
  • To set the filter values for any of the other categories, hover over the larger Plus icon, then select the filter category from the list. After you select a filter category, a popover window will appear where you can define the values for the filter. Click Add to add any filter you wish to add, then close the box.
  • Once you have defined the market, click View Market. You can then choose to view any of the market reports.
  • Search Algorithm: When you add multiple items under a filter category, an “or” search is performed. That means the results will include mills that match any of the criteria. For example, if you set the region to be “Germany” and “France”, the result will pull all of the mills that are in either Germany or France. When you specify filters for multiple categories, an “and” search is performed, meaning the mills have to match all the categories. For example, if you set the location to be “Germany” and “France” and the grade/product to be “Linerboard”, then the results will include all of the linerboard mills in either Germany or France.
  • Saving your Custom Market: You have the ability to save the custom markets that you create. To save a custom market, click the Save Market button on the right-hand-side. Enter a name for your custom market in the popover and click Save Market. You can access custom markets from the saved search select box in the upper right.
  • Updating Your Custom Market: You can update your custom market at any time. If you have already saved your custom market, changes to the market are not automatically saved. If you make changes to an existing custom market and wish to save the new changes, click the Save Market button. A popover will appear where you have the option to save the updated market as a new market or to replace an existing market.
