Excel Add-in updates

Fastmarkets continue to provide enhancements to the Excel Add-in which can either be mandatory or optional.

When you log in, you will be notified if a new version of the Excel Add-in becomes available.

In the instance of a mandatory update it will not be possible to login to the Fastmarkets Excel Add-in and access or use any functions embedded in your spreadsheets. Mandatory updates are necessary to ensure that all customers can benefit from some of the features and functionality which will come with a combined release of the Fastmarkets Dashboard and Excel Add-in.

The screenshot below shows how this update box displays in the instance of a mandatory update. If you click “Stop Add-in” it will close Excel. If you click “Update” and confirm that you wish to install the new version, Excel will restart and the update will be installed automatically.

If you select to “Stop Add-in” you will be able to continue to work with our pricing in Excel using the static copy or export functions from the Dashboard widgets.

Optional updates provide the opportunity to postpone to a more convenient time whilst continuing to use the Excel Add-in functions. This does mean you will not be able to benefit from any functionality enhancements as part of the release until you choose to proceed with the update.
