Pulp & paper mill data reports
The Mill Asset Database provides two ways to analyze mill data: grouped mill reports and individual mill detail pages.
Grouped Mill Report (landing page)
Assets Report and Map
After applying filters on the Assets page, select View Search to open the Search Results. From there, you can compare all selected mills in a list view, or select a specific asset—either from a report or directly from the mill map—to open its detailed mill page.

Below the mill map, the Assets report displays a list of all mills included in your selection. The report provides key information for each mill, including location, grades and products, company website, number of employees, type of operation (for example, pulp mill or paper mill), operational status (active, idle, closed, for sale, etc.), and a Benchmarked indicator showing whether the mill has been cost‑benchmarked.
When exporting the Assets report, additional fields are included, such as the year the mill was built and the mill’s map coordinates (X/Y). These fields can be used to create your own customized maps of the selected mills.
All reports can be exported to Excel using the Export to Excel button. You can choose to export either the current data view—reflecting the report exactly as displayed on screen—or the entire data report, which includes all reports associated with the current selection.
By default, the report is sorted by Asset Name, but you can change the sorting to other columns as needed. The report initially displays 25 rows, and you can adjust this setting to show a different number of rows per page (10, 50 or 100).

Capacity Report
The Capacity report displays capacity by Product for the selected Grade/Product. If a mill produces multiple products within the selected Grade/Product, it will appear on multiple rows. Capacities for other grades or products produced by the mill are not shown in this report.
Additional columns provide the mill’s total capacities, including total pulp capacity (including recycled pulp), total market pulp capacity, and total paper and paperboard capacity. The final column shows the combined total of paper/paperboard and market pulp capacity for the mill.

Cost Report
The Cost report contains the basic cash cost per ton(ne) produced for each product of the mills. This includes the cost of fiber, energy, chemicals, labor and maintenance. Go to the Cost Benchmarking Basic help article on the Fastmarkets Support hub for more information.

Note: depending on the subscription level, the cost tab may not be available.
Key Personnel Report
The Key Personnel report displays both headquarters and mill‑level personnel for the mills included in your selection. If you are looking for personnel associated with a specific mill, it is recommended to open the mill details page for that asset. The mill details view (click on an asset name from any of the reports) excludes headquarters contacts, making it easier to search and identify relevant mill personnel.

Note: Due to GDPR regulations in most Western European countries, key personnel information is not available for mills located in this region.
Consumption Report
The Consumption section includes several reports. The Fiber Furnish report shows the overall breakdown of pulp grades used by each paper mill, as per the estimate by Fastmarkets RISI's cost engineers, based on a 100% capacity utilization (357 operating days) The subsequent reports provide more detailed views of the same data, including Natural Wood (wood used to produce integrated and market pulp), Market Pulp, Recovered Paper, and Natural Non‑Wood.
In addition, the Pulp and Paper Furnish report displays the quantities of additives—such as coating, filler, and starch—alongside the pulp grade breakdown.
Please also read What is the difference between Consumption and Furnish?
